THE Carron Arts Group have handed over a cheque for £300 to a local mental health charity.

Pillar Kincardine is the latest recipient to benefit from some of the proceeds of the art group’s sales, whose work is on display in the reception area of the Stonehaven Medical Centre on Robert Street.

It is a tradition kept up by the group for several years now, with the medical staff at the practice choosing who to give the money to.

Colin Wilson, service manager for Pillar Kincardine said: “It is great, we’re very lucky to have been the beneficiaries of this in years past too and that this year the practice staff and GPs have chosen us again. It is also a nice acknowledgement of the work we do.”

Mr Wilson said the money could be used to fund similar activities to the creative writing taster sessions the charity is due to run in May and June in Inverbervie.

For more information about the sessions, phone 01569 767222 or email pillarkincardine@classmail.co.uk

The Carron Arts Group is an informal group with an interest in arts and crafts. It meets every second Thursday in the Invercarron Resource Centre.
