£300,000 road improvement

Work is due to start on February 27 on the Transport Scotland works to provide a £300,000 merge lane at the A90/A937 northern junction at Laurencekirk.

Scottish Water service diversion works, which are required to be carried out in advance, commenced on Wednesday for approximately three weeks.

The construction of the new merge lane is anticipated to last four to five weeks.

The traffic management required to carry out the merge lane roadworks safely will involve a lane closure on the northbound carriageway of the A90 and the banning of some turning movements at the A90/A937 junction, mainly at night time. Traffic will be limited to 30mph through the works area in the interests of safety for the workforce and motorists.
