Busy day at ‘the Friendly Games’

Waiting for Video...

A wet start to the Drumtochty Games didn’t damper spirits as plenty members of the public passed through the grounds of the castle.

Held last Saturday, the stalls, food and level of competition showed why they have been called ‘‘the most friendly highland games.’’

They were officially opened by Chieftain Libby Lafferty, with chairman John Singer, secretary Eleanor Fotheringham and treasurer Evelyn Coates proceeding over the competitions.

There was a whole list of events including highland dancing, long jump, 90m sprint, tug of war and the Finella Hill Race

Photographer Andy Thompson took these fantastic shots and you can tweet us your pictures @themearnsleader.
