The Stonehaven Flood Action Group are asking anyone that can assistto contact them to help drainage in Stonehaven.
At a meeting on Tuesday night, onetopic of conversation was the response from Aberdeenshire Council in regards to a map of the drains for the town.
The group are requesting that anybody who might have historical maps or plans for the drainage systems in and around Stonehaven submit them for copying by the flood action group (with the originals returned).
These would then be forwarded to Aberdeenshire Council to assist in the process of planning for the flood prevention scheme.
Any parties willing to help out should do so via the contacts page of the website, www.stonehavenfloodaction.org/contact
The Mearns Leader was also contacted by residents who wished to highlight the drain problem in their area.
Pictured above was the current state of Salmon Lane on Wednesday morning. Residents have said they have contacted the council numerous times but so far nothing has been done.
This comes as SEPA issued a flood alert for Aberdeenshire over Tuesday night and Wednesday .
The alert was for “Persistent heavy rainfall from this afternoon (Tuesday) into Wednesday could result in flooding to low lying land and roads from rivers and watercourses.
“The greatest risk will be in southern Aberdeenshire, as a result of the highest rainfall accumulations being in this area.”
