Committee recommended to approve STP plans

A report to the Kincardine and Mearns area committee meeting has recommended that the committee agrees to the Stonehaven Town Partnerships proposed business plan for the Queen Elizabeth Caravan Park.

The report for the item, which will be discussed at the meeting on Tuesday December 6, recommends that the committee endorses the proposal and business plan provided by STP as providing a sound basis for the future management of Queen Elizabeth Caravan Site, Stonehaven.

It is also asked they agree that Stonehaven Town Partnership is an appropriate body with which to enter into a Community Asset Transfer arrangement. Also that they confirm that it is satisfied that the submitted proposals meet the requirements of the “Disposal of Land by Local Authorities (Scotland) Regulations 2010”.

The committee is also recommended to agree in principle that the site be transferred by way of a lease to STP on an annual rent of £1,000 and that

STP may then in turn enter into a lease with the Caravan Club of Great Britain on the basis set out in the proposal and business plan, and instruct officers to negotiate a lease on the terms set out in this report.

The Kincardine and Mearns area committee meeting is the next step in a long process which has being carried out by STP to take over the running of the Stonehaven caravan park.
