Free financial training session

Jubilee Hall, Portlethen

Jubilee Hall, Portlethen

A free Financial Information and Training Session will take place at the Jubilee Hall in Portlethen on Tuesday 4 February from 9.15am until 11.15am.

This will offer support with matters such as benefits and budgeting.

Advice will be available from the AHEAD partnership which is funded by the Aberdeen Change Fund and the Scottish Government People and Communities Fund.

Councillor Alison Evison has set up this session along with the North East Scotland Credit Union.

“This week is debt awareness week, “ commented Alison Evison. “We want to encourage people to consider using credit unions as a supportive membership based alternative to other lenders with excessive charges, such as some of those offering pay-day loans.”

“The changes which the introduction of Universal Credit will bring to personal finances will be a challenge for many people.

“This training session will help people to think about ways to meet this challenge. We hope that as many as possible will be able to attend.”
