Stonehaven Fireballs proved once again why Visit Scotland called it a ‘must see’ event, this year’s being enjoyed by more than 8000 spectators.
It also raised more than £5000 on the night to help pay costs.
Organiser, Kevin Boyne, told the Leader and Observer how the group was already looking forward to next year: “Once again, we pulled off a wonderful, trouble-free Hogmanay party.
“We had over 8000 spectators and, along with the Fireballs, we hope they enjoyed seeing the fire sculpture and the fireworks.
‘‘Many thanks go out to all our sponsors, the emergency services, Aberdeenshire Council, the residents of the ‘Auld Toon’ and, most importantly’ all our volunteers who give their free time to make it all possible.
“Through all the kind donations we received on the night, we raised just over £5000 which helps to pay our costs and for next year’s event, for which we have already started planning.’’
