Mearns Camera Club were victorious for the second year running after competing in the annual Grampian Eye Photo Competition.
Held on Saturday, April 26, at the Phoenix Hall, Newton Dee, this year’s competition was hosted by Bon Accord Camera Club from Aberdeeen.
Fourteen clubs from throughout the North-east competed to win the prestigious trophy.
Each club had to submit 15 projected images which could gain up to a total of 20 marks from the judge making a possible perfect score of 300.
The judge this year was Duncan McEwan, honorary SPF, who gave a sterling performance marking and giving comments and advice on the 210 images he had to judge.
He said he thought the general standard was very high but it was his job to tease out the winners as that was that nature of the competition, although it was not always easy to do so.
In a closely fought contest Mearns Camera Club were first with a total of 259 points, second were Moray CC with 257 and third were Aberdeen CC with 250. Eightimages were given the maximum of 20 points and two of them were from Mearns CC - Between The Bridges by Pat Copner(pictured above) and Cocoa Cola by John McSevney
Congratulations are also due to Pat Copner whose image Between The Bridges was voted the best image in the competition.
MC for the day Allan Gawthorpe thanked Duncan for his humorous and insightful comments and excellent judging. He also thanked the Bon Accord Club.
