Fire and rescue crews were called out to Muchalls early on Monday morning to tackle a blaze which caused extensive damage to a farmhouse.
It took four crews - two from Stonehaven and two from Altens - to extinguish the fire at the West Blackbutts farmhouse in Muchalls, which was empty at the time.
The fire was reported just after 2.30am on Monday morning at the two storey detached property.
The fire service confirmed that the outbreak was not being treated as suspicous and no one was hurt.
A Scotland Fire Service spokesman told the Mearns Leader and kincardineshire Observer: “Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets to extinguish the blaze.
‘‘Thankfully there were no casualties, and the fire is not being treated as deliberate.”
Police Scotland were also in attendance.
A spokesperson said: “Police officers attended to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in bringing the incident under control.”
