Police Scotland have confirmed that no devices were fitted to ATMs in Stonehaven’s Market Square last Friday, April 4.
The police were called after 4pm last Friday, with a couple of officers then attending.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a call about suspect persons in the Market Square area of Stonehaven on April 4 at about 4.10pm.
“Officers attended but found no device fitted to the ATMs. However, we would encourage anyone who spots suspicious behaviour to contact police so we can make enquiries.”
An ATM in Stonehaven was raided last November, with the incident occurring at the Clydesdale Bank in Ann Street, just 50 yards from the Mearns Leader office.
