A giant luxury Belgian Chocolate Easter Egg was raffled recently at E Giulianotti’s Ice Cream and Sweet Shop on Evan Street.

The marbled chocolate egg, worth around £200, was donated by Giulianotti’s for a fundraiser in support of the planned dialysis unit for Stonehaven.

It was created out of 4Kg of delicious chocolate by master chocolatiers Van Coillie of Belgium.

The draw took place at the shop on Easter Sunday and the winning ticket was picked out by one of the shop’s customers.

The lucky ticket belonged to Mrs Sarah Groom, of Stonehaven.

The total money raised for the dialysis unit from the raffle was £502 .

Giulianotti’s owner, Marjory Stephen, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the amount of money our customers have contributed in support of this fundraiser.

“It is clear that people in Stonehaven feel very strongly that there is a real need for the dialysis unit here in the town.

“Hopefully we will see this become reality in the very near future. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket. ”
