There will be a poker tournament held at the Stonehaven Town Hall next weekend to raise funds for the Town Hall Trust.
The charity night will see over 18s play for a grand prize of £2200.
Entry is £40 with optional rebuy (max two per player for first hour and a half). There is space for 126 players with a bar available and dealers provided.
Also at the town hall, Quids In Theatre are to present a play called ‘Journey to Gothenburg’.
Aberdeen Football Club, then captained by Willie Miller and managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, became legends in 1983 when they defeated Real Madrid in Gothenburg to win the European Cup Winner’s Cup.
The show charts the friendship of a group of fans as they travel aboard the St. Clair on a 27-hour round trip to support their team, recreating the electrifying victory itself through various media, as well as the dramatic events aboard the ferry.
