An appeal has been launched and investigations are continuing after a 63-year-old man from St Cyrus was killed in a crash on the A90 on Saturday.

James Duncan, who was driving a beige Beauford Convertible, was involved in a single vehicle collision while travelling south at Muchalls Bends at around 7pm.

Road Policing Sergeant, Steve Milne said: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision – or saw this distinctive vehicle being driven on the road shortly before the accident – to come forward.

‘‘ At the time of the collision, driving conditions were good and it is vital that we piece together what has happened. Witness accounts are key to this and a full investigation into the circumstances is now under way”.

The southbound A90 was closed for five hours to allow collision investigation work to be carried out.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
