Portlethen fuel costs seminar
Labour Council candidate Alison Evison hosted a seminar in the Jubilee Hall, Portlethen at which the problem of rising fuel costs was discussed.
The seminar was led by Barbara Atterson, the Development Manager of Energy Action Scotland, working in conjunction with Consumer Focus Scotland and Ofgem.
The local residents who attended were given very useful advice about how to minimise the amount they pay for domestic fuel.
Alison Evison commented: “I have already heard that a local family has been able to save over £450 a year on their fuel bills by following Ms Atterson’s advice. I hope that soon other families will be able to gain in the same way. Fuel poverty is becoming a huge issue for lots of people and we are pleased to be able to help by hosting this seminar.
“Several community groups were represented at the seminar and they will be able to spread the information more widely among their contacts.”
Portlethen resident Margaret Hamilton said: “It was great to see that action is being taken within our local area to tackle the issue of fuel costs.”
