Primary five pupils at Portlethen Primary school held a toy, book and game sale last Friday, February 21.

It was organised by a Cooperative Learning Team of just three children: Owen McDonald, Jemma Simpson & Kiana Roberston.

The school children managed to raise £180.95 with funds raised going to sponsor two children in Kenya to go to school.

Primary five teacher Fiona Lindsay told the Leader: “The money is to sponsor two children in Kenya to go to school.

“We have more events coming up to raise more money as we need £384 in total for the year to cover the school fees.

“This links in with RRSA and Article 28- Every child has the right to Education.

“Our next event is cup cake decorating on March 12 and 13 in the mornings.”

The school are also having a Fair Trade coffee morning at the Porty Cabin on Tuesday March 4 across the road from school from 10am 
till noon.
