Stonehaven Folk Club welcomes Siobhan Miller tomorrow (Friday), and she will also be accompanied by Aaron Jones.
Siobhan’s range includes Scottish traditional, contemporary and songs that she has written herself.
In December 2011, she was voted ‘Scots Singer of the Year’ in the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards, and again in 2013.
Entry is £8/10 on the door in the Lower Community Centre, and there is no bar so BYOB. Stonehaven Folk Club is open to all and accompanied school age children are admitted free.
Last week the group welcomed Robin Laing, who has been entertaining on the Folk scene for many years, is well known for his self-penned songs and more traditional material and best known for his songs about Scotland’s greatest treasure, malt whisky. Taking a break from the usual Malt Whisky events, his appearances at Folk Clubs are becoming quite rare.
A club spokesperson said: “It was great to have Robin come along for the first guest night of the second half after the traditional July break and he did not disappoint, delivering a fine evening of anecdotes and songs to a good turnout.
“This week brings another guest night with the return of fabulous award winning singer, Siobhan, accompanied by Aaron Jones.”
