TANGO BAND A HIT WITH FESTIVAL CROWDS
THE 10th annual Yellow's on the Broom festival took place in Inverbervie on the May Day weekend.
Music fans from around the world gathered for the two-day event at Sillyflat Farm.
The eclectic mix of artists attracted more than 1,000 visitors in total and the festival vibe spread throughout the Mearns, with a number of performers making appearances at pubs in the Royal Burgh, Gourdon, Catterline and Johnshaven.
Headline act Manosanta, an Argentinian tango band who performed for the first time in Scotland during the festival, got the crowd on its feet both nights, while popular Mearns band The Residents packed the dance floor on Sunday.
Other highlights included Man at the Window, Tramps and the Gerry Jablonski Blues project.
Organiser Anna Mayer said the aim of the event had been to promote international artists and provide something different for residents and visitors alike to enjoy. She said she was pleased with how things had gone in the 10th year of the event.
Following on from the festival, The Residents took part in a jam session at Gourdon's Harbour Bar on Monday evening, while Norwegian band Tramps, who also performed on the last night, put on a gig at Catterline's Creel Inn.
Music was also performed at the Castleview show home and a series of workshops were held at the Benholm Mill.
For the first time the festival included a dedicated area for children with a magician and other entertainment.
