The popular Marykirk Raft Race is open for entries with organisers looking for to raise thousands like they have previously.

Last year, the spectacle raised over £7000 for local good causes and charities.

The Marykirk Raft Race Committee are holding a quiz night this Saturday, April 2 at 8pm in the Marykirk Hotel. All money raised will go towards the raft race which will be held on Sunday, May 15.

The quiz will have a cash prize for the winning team and a prize raffle. As usual the Marykirk Raft Race will have plenty of prizes.

There will be prizes for the winning raft, best dressed raft, team, and this year there will be a special prize for the team who raise the most sponsorship money.

Entry forms for the raft race can be picked up from the Marykirk Hotel, Mearns Hardware in Laurencekirk or from Natures Garden on Murray Street in Montrose.
