Stonehaven and District Lions Club roared in the New Year as they welcomed two new members into their pride.
Steven Gauld and Kathleen Findlay have agreed to follow the Lions motto “We Serve” to help raise funds and participate in events to the benefit of the Stonehaven and wider community.
The club, with more than 30 members of all ages and from all walks of life, has been helping others since the summer of 1979.
Kathleen is the first female member of the club that meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 8pm in the Heugh Hotel for a social gathering and to discuss the forthcoming fund raising or social events.
Rainer Jackisch, club president said: “It is a great club to be involved with. Everyone works together to lessen the load and the social events help to bring us together with the emphasis being on puting some fun in fund raising!
“All monies raised go to charity and many community activities take place to help others.”
The club is always looking for new members so if you feel you’d like to spend some time socialising with like minded people and help benefit others, why not take a trip to the Heugh Hotel at the times indicated or phone 0845-8335958 for more info.
