Ma Simpson’s Music Shop on Evans Street will hold an open day next week to give childrens and adults the chance to try out instruments.

The shop will also celebrate it’s 12th birthday at the same time when the open day takes place on September 5 from 12noon to 4pm.

The day is to give people from Kincardine and Mearns the opportunity regardless of ability to try out instruments and meet the teachers who can offer lessons on that instrument.

We spoke to Ma Simpsons owner Chris Stirk who said anyone could take part and have a small demonstration on each of the instruments before making a decision.

She said: “We had such a great day at our open day last year we have decided to do it again on Saturday September 5 from 12noon to 4pm. Come meet the teachers and have a try of the instruments. We have sax, drums, violin, piano, guitar, vocal, cello, keyboard, chanter.

“Get a 10-15 min trial on an instrument see if you think you might like it or not. We will also have snacks wine and beer on and if last year is anything to go by a fair bit of playing from our teachers in the street.

“So if you fancy taking up an instrument or know somone who is please come along or let them know.”
