Names sought for jubilee reception

STONEHAVEN Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland are looking for the names of ex-servicemen or women to represent the branch at a Diamond Jubilee reception in Edinburgh.

The Scotland Office is proposing to hold the recption, possibly on June 29 and it is proposed the theme will be Serving Forces throughout the Decades.

Serving members of the military from to 1950s to the present day are invited, especially those who have served in any conflicts during that period and any that should receive special recognition of their achievements.

Many charities will also be represented at the reception, including Veterans Scotland, Poppyscotland, Scottish Veterans Residences, the Royal Vaval Benevolent Trust, the Army Benevolent Fund and the RAF Benevolent Fund.

The Stonehaven branch has been asked to come up with two individuals who might want to attend, but if they receive more nominations, they are all likely to be able to attend the reception.
