Packed Gala Programme

The Laurencekirk Gala programme was announced this week with plenty on offer for the Mearns public to get involved with.

Kicking off on Sunday July 12, the Gala Princess Hannah Smith will be crowned at Laurencekirk Parish church at 10.45am before a High tea at Dickson Hall from 2pm.

Monday July 13 10am–12noon Pre-School Fancy Dress Disco with Laurencekirk Pre School Group at Mearns Community Campus. 1.45pm–4pm Bowling Club “Bounce” Open Afternoon.

2pm-4pm “Here Come the Girls” Teenage Beauty session with make-up artist Yurisa Clelland.

7pm for 7.30pm Gala Musical Concert at Mearns Community Campus Enjoy an evening of song, music and dance with local compere Jim Brown

Tuesday July 14 - 10am–12noon Kids Club – Climbing wall and activities with Laurencekirk Scouts at Scout Hut.

10am–11.30 Sing, Story and play session with Lournie Tots. Birth - 3 years (older siblings welcome). Mearns Community Campus.

2pm - Annual Gala Pet Show at Memorial Park.

6.45pm - Bingo at Mearns Community Centre – Eyes down at 7.30pm

Wednesday July 15 - 9.30am - 11.30am Teddy Bears Picnic with Laurencekirk Bumps, Babies and Toddlers at Memorial Park.

10am-12noon Junior “Bounce” Open Morning at Bowling Club

2pm-4.30pm The Tea Dance at the Masonic Hall Live Music. Teas provided by Laurencekirk WRI

7pm-10pm Ladies Charity Night at St Laurence Hall in aid of Mearns Allsorts and Scottish Spina Bifida Association.

7.30pm Cinema Night with the Youth Forum “The Wedding Ringer” at Mearns Community Campus.

Thursday July 16 10.30am Movie Time with Youth Forum! At Mearns Community Campus. Autism Friendly screening of Shaun the Sheep. 2.00pm Standard screening of Shaun the Sheep.

6pm for 6.30pm Car Treasure Hunt Start and finish from Mearns Community Campus.

Friday July 17 10am–12noon Allans Magic Show at Mearns Community Campus

1pm– 3pm Another Walk Through Time with Ian Bell Starts at Masonic hall.

2pm–4pm Kids Club – Disco with Laurencekirk Out of School Club

7.30pm for 8pm Quiz and a Beer with Burnside Brewery

Saturday July 18 Tower and Johnston Races registration from 9.30am

12.30pm – Procession from Kinnear Square with our very own Howe O’ The Mearns Pipe Band
