Residents in Stonehaven have been regarding the town clock with some confusion recently as, no matter the time of day, it tells us that it is quarter past one.

And it looks like it is set to stay that way for the next few weeks at least.

However, the clock has not been forgotten by Aberdeenshire Council, in fact the local authority are in the process of finalising plans to renovate the clock, and have said they will be “providing details to community groups” on the proposed renovations.

Work is expected to start in August, with internal work on the clock to begin later in the year.

Listed building consent has been applied for and the North East Scotland Preservation Trust will be overseeing the project, which as an expected completion date for all of the work is some time in November.
