The Tolbooth Museum in Stonehaven will host a coast-themed poetry workshop this Saturday, April 26.
During the workshop, community artist Petra Vergunst will share some of the poems she has written in response to the Aberdeenshire coastline and facilitate a discussion about the shoreline stories and experiences of those attending.
The workshop is part of the project “Sharing at the Shoreline “ in which the artist walks the Aberdeenshire Coastal Path and shares her experiences in a series of poetry and sharing activities along the way.
Petra said: ‘Aberdeenshire has an amazing coastline with an outstanding bird and sea life and it also provides opportunities to explore how people use this landscape to make a living.
‘‘Through my walk along the Aberdeenshire Coastal Path I want to highlight the importance of this landscape to us and I use my poetry workshops and walks to create a dialogue about this.’
The Tolbooth Museum has a policy of supporting local cultural events and the 2pm workshop will be free and prior registration is not required.
