Police Scotland are appealing for information after an assault and disturbance in Stonehaven over the weekend.

The incident happened on Sunday at 2.45am where a 20 year old male was assaulted and sustained a facial injury.

Sergeant Michael Urquhart, of the Stonehaven Community Policing Team said: “There would have been people in the square at this time heading home from nights out and I would appeal to anyone who saw the disturbance or has any information about it to contact Police Scotland on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The incident in Stonehaven is the second assault in three weeks where Police have had to issue an appeal.

At the end of January two 20 year old men were charged in relation to a serious assault at the Market Square. Three men in that incident were assaulted and left with serious injuries.

Police at the time of this assault said it was unusual for Stonehaven.
