Police appeal after woman hit by car at Stonehaven

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured yesterday after being hit by a car near Stonehaven.

The incident, which involved a blue Volkswagen Golf, happened at around 3pm on Tuesday and the woman sustained serious head injuries. The incident happened on the A957 Stonehaven to Banchory road approximately 100 metres south of Bervie Braes.

The 35-year-old female pedestrian was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious head injuries, and is described as being in a stable condition. The driver of the Golf was uninjured.

The road was closed for more than four hours and re-opened shortly after 7pm.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision who have not already come forward to contact the force on 101.
