Okmoberfest

Hot on the heels of MoFest & Burnside Breweries Rhythm & Brews event in March is the follow up fundraiser OkMoberfest.

Once again MoFest in association with Burnside Brewery will collaborate to bring the three day event to Montrose Town Hall and transform it into a German Beer Hall that features a host of craft brews from around 10 different breweries, a dedicated Gin, Vodka and Proseco bar and specialist ciders.

Breweries including Burnside will include, 6 Deg North, Deeside, Lerwick, Lions Lair, Park Brew, Windswept and more. Between them there will be more than 30 craft beers on offer with an emphasis on Continental styles for a more authentic ‘Oktoberfest’ feel. Beers such as Burnsides own Hefe-Weissbier, Raspberry Wiess, Wild Rhino, and of course MoBest Gold & Dark. Other Beers will include 6 Deg North’s Wanderlust Wheat, Honey Bee Good, and their new Belgian Pils, Fierce Beers Granadilla Guerilla, and Windswepts Marooned (Weizen), and Waimea, to name a few. As well as all those beers there will also be a selection of bottled beers, Craft Cider from Thistly Cross & Waulkmill and also Gin from Eden and Arbikie and a dedicated Stelle D’Italia Prosecco Bar.

Entertainment will be spread over the three day event kicking off on Friday evening with MoFest favourite Nick Mercer Jnr , Front man of the band Sergeant, followed by the ever popular Two Wheels Good rocking into the small hours. Saturday afternoon brings with it some Old time songs, Skiffle, Blues, and more with The Moonshiners playing live followed in the Evening by the ever popular ‘A Right Couple O’ Charlie’s and finished off with some folk, rock and bluegrass from The Brothers Reid. Sunday aims to be a more relaxed day billed as the ‘Drink Up’ session - for those wanting a chilled out chance to grab the last of the beers and other drinks.

The four sessions will also be offering a selection of German Street Food wholeheartedly hand made to order courtesy of the award winning Pavilion Café next door. On offer will be Fresh Pretzels, Lemon & Thyme Pock Schnitzel, Kasespatzle, Bratwurst and much more.

Chairman David Paton commented: “Following our hugely successful first Rhythm & Brews Beer Festival in March we were keen to keep momentum going with MoFest fundraising, especially with our tenth year coming up in 2017. We hope with this mix of Music, Food and Drinks we will entice our revellers to come along and as they always do, support the festival events.”

Tickets are available online at www.montrosemusicfestival.co.uk, in person at MoFest HQ, 66 New Wynd, Montrose, Burnisde Brewery shop in Laurencekirk, or can be purchased on the door at each session.
