Quoir branches out

The Burns Quoir is looking ahead to a busy time, extending its repertoire to include folk songs, sea songs. lullabies and love songs while retaining the best of Burns songs.

Various performances are also in the diary and promise to be exciting, challenging and fun! An ensemble from the Quoir will sing for the Inverbervie Thursday Club today (May 3) in the Church Centre. In June the Quoir will perform a programme of sea and fishing songs at the Tolbooth in Stonehaven, perhaps coinciding with the passing of the Olympic Torch through the town.

July will see the Quoir participating in the projected Big Sing, Stonehaven Workshop venture – part of the Folk Festival’s programme to provide a singing opportunity for anyone attending the Festival or living locally, the Workshop to be led by the Quoir’s Musical Director, Christine Kydd.

New members are most welcome for the new season’s singing in harmony with the Quoir and participating in the exciting programme of forthcoming events.

The Quoir meets every Thursday at 7.30 in the Drumlithie Hotel Function Room. Sessions are fun, friendly and lively! No audition is required. Just come along and join in the fun. Hope to see you there.
