LAST week's meeting had a great turnout, and the same is hoped for the next meeting on March 28.

sauchen based Housing Developer, Kirkwood Homes Ltd, in conjunction with A&J Stephen Ltd of Perth, were delighted to welcome over 100 local residents and stakeholders to the Dickson Memorial Hall in Laurencekirk last Thursday evening (February 28) to view initial proposals for a Development Framework and Masterplan for the 278 acre site at Conveth of Mains, North Laurencekirk.

Allan Rae, Land Director at Kirkwood Homes Ltd, said: “It has been important from the outset to ensure that the local community and all stakeholders have an opportunity to view and comment on the future development of Laurencekirk through the Conveth of Mains site. It was therefore great to see over 100 people not only attend the exhibition on Thursday evening, but discuss with the team their own inspirations for the town. We will now analyse this feedback, which will help inform the design process for the site going forward.”

John Stephen of A&J Stephen Ltd commented: “The attendance at the public exhibition clearly shows that the community of Laurencekirk have a great interest in its future expansion. We therefore want to ensure, that via the development of the Conveth of Mains site, that we take cognisance of the views of the community and that their feedback plays an important part in shaping the expansion of the town.”

A follow-up exhibition will be held on March 28 in the Dickson Memorial Hall to show further detail on both the Development Framework and Masterplan and to provide the local community with a further opportunity to comment on the proposals.
