Revised opening hours for Aberdeenshire swimming pools are to take effect from May 3, it has been confirmed.
Adjustments to schedules have been developed as part of plans to achieve savings of £80,000 agreed by the full council earlier this year.
For most facilities only minor adjustments are being made to the weekly opening hours, and where possible have been targeted at times of least demand.
The aim is to minimise disruption to regular pool user groups and the leisure service will monitor feedback on the changes and will investigate further amendments if required.
Under the changes, Stonehaven Indoor Swimming Pool will be closed during the summer holidays, and sports hall opening hours will be reduced during the summer break.
Portlethen Swimming Pool will open from 2.30pm on Mondays. Opening hours on other days of the week are not affected.
No pools are to close permanently as a result of the changes, and alternative sessions for swimming clubs have been arranged where possible.
In addition, there will be no changes at Aberdeenshire’s three busiest facilities at Inverurie, Westhill and Peterhead, nor at Banchory Swimming Pool.
Customers are encouraged to check with pool staff for any changes that may affect their local facility.
