Stonehaven Rotary Club organized a very successful art evening held at Macphie of Glenbervie in May.

The event was supported and sponsored by Macphie, Peterkin Homes of Auchenblae and Gallery at Fifty-five of Stonehaven

The evening was arranged by Rotarian Joe Samson and his artist son, Mike, who painted a picture of Dunnottar Castle live during the evening.

An excellent crowd of over 200 people were entertained by Mike who spoke about how he became a painter and what it meant to him.

Once completed it was donated by Mike to be auctioned to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

In addition Mike also donated a charcoal painting of Dunnottar Castle to be auctioned as well.

The money from the auctions, and a raffle raised over £5000.

A spokesperson said: ‘‘Stonehaven Rotary Club would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the evening and made it such a success.’’
