Rotary Club has a new president

July is the month when Rotary Clubs change their Club officers and the Stonehaven Club has new faces to steer it through the coming year.

Helen Smith will be wearing the President’s chain of office this year.

Helen is well known locally having been Senior Practice Nurse/Manager at the Stonehaven Medical Centre from where she retired last year.

Since joining the Club in 2003, Helen has served on many of the Club’s committees and, in 2007, received a Paul Harris Fellowship Award from the Stonehaven Club.

Named after the founder of the Rotary movement, this award is the highest a Rotary Club can bestow on any of it’s members and was in recognition of Helen’s charitable works in Sierra Leone, Kenya and South Africa.

Supporting Helen in her new role will be Treasurer Bill Hunter and Secretary Jane Davidson. The Club Senior Vice President is Peter Newell.
