St Cyrus Cubs and Beavers launched on May 28 and have gone from strength to strength in their first month.
Beavers got off to a great start with 24 children, boys and girls, between ages 6-8 years attending and names are now having to be placed on a waiting list. The waiting list is still short and the group expect to be able to have these additional Beavers into the colony by October as some of the older Beavers will swim up to Cubs.
Intake for cubs has been slightly lower with 13 children, boys and girls, between the ages 8-10 ½ years but, with an additional three Beavers swimming up in October.
The group are still willing to start Scouts, however intake from the 10 ½ to 14 age group has been slow.
St Cyrus Scout Group would like to thank all who attended the St Cyrus Gala, with a big thanks to the contributors and the companies that donated prizes for the stall. These were CostCo (Aberdeen), Asda (Portlethen) and the Co-operative (Montrose).
We raised a total of £151, with the map treasure hunt being a huge success. Winning location was “Three Laws”(SW of Craigo) Ref :NO 680627 and the winner received an IPOD radio docking station.
The Whisky trail winner received a bottle of Bells and three happy kids went away with supersoakers from the nails in a board game, with lots of bonus prizes being won.
