The annual St Cyrus Garden Competition was, once again, a great success – with Robert and Isobel Smith winning the overall prize.

There were 16 gardens in this year’s competition, which were judged by Mr T Stott, from Aberdeen, who was very impressed by the high standard of gardens across the various categories.

And for gardening enthusiasts, there is more to enjoy this weekend when the St Cyrus flower show takes place.

This year is the 30th anniversary of the show, and it will be held on Sunday in the village hall. Provost of Aberdeenshire, Councillor Hamish Vernal, will officially open the show.

To enter, you must live in the parish of St Cyrus. Schedules are available from St Cyrus shop or from Kathleen Masson by calling 850277.
