Stonehaven Air Cadets to host open night in bid to recruit new members

Cadets and Staff from 1297 (Stonehaven) Sqn Air Cadet Corps are to hold an open night for potential new members.

The Open Evening will be held in the Squadron’s Headquarters in Beachgate Lane on Thursday August 30 from 1930 to 21.30

The unit’s membership is open to boys and girls aged 13 to 17 years. Members of the Stonehaven Squadron will be on hand to demonstrate and encourage any potential new member to try some of the many activities open to the Squadron’s cadets.

Fancy yourself as a pilot come along and try the flight simulators or come and see the kit available when the cadets tackle the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Ever wondered how an aeroplane stays up in the sky? Cadets will be on hand to explain it to you.

Other activities which the squadron cadets take part in include flying, gliding, various sports as well as the opportunity to take part in outdoor pursuits including camps.

The Stonehaven Squadron meet every Thursday in their Beachgate Lane Headquarters from 1900 to 2130.
