the 24th Stonehaven Folk Festival will take place from July 5-8 this year. As one of the major music festivals in Scotland, the line-up of artists and events for 2012 has been chosen to attract audiences from all over the country to Stonehaven over the three days for an eclectic mixture of contemporary and traditional music and song.
The main stage events will be held in the Town Hall with the customary fringe events taking place in various venues around the town. The festival committee is expecting, once again to attract large crowds.
As well as the main stage events and the Tradition Bearers Concert hosted by Geordie Murison, the favourite fringe events of Aqua Ceilidh, World Paper ‘n’ Comb Competition, Chorus Cup, Kids Concert, Plainstones and Cowie Fringe will again take place.
The festival would not be complete without the impromptu sessions going on around the town in the harbour area, town centre and the Recreation Club throughout the weekend.
