Stonehaven ‘top cat’ needed for Cats Protection

Cats Protection’s Stonehaven Branch needs to recruit a volunteer coordinator, to oversee the branch and allow it to help even more cats.

The branch is looking for a cat lover who can organise the branch and its dedicated band of volunteers.

No management experience is necessary and the charity can provide plenty of assistance and support materials.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading cat charity and the Stonehaven Branch is part of a nationwide network of 250 volunteer-run branches and 31 adoption centres, that together help over 194,000 cats and kittens each year.

As well as finding new homes for unwanted and abandoned cats, the charity also offers cat care advice to the public and can help towards the cost of neutering.

Donna Webster, regional development manager for Cats Protection, said: “The branch does a huge amount of work to help local cats, but we really need to recruit a coordinator to oversee the branch and enable us to carry on our work.

“The role is incredibly varied and so the ideal person would have great people skills, as well as a love of cats and bags of enthusiasm.

“Like all the positions in our branch, it is a voluntary one and by sparing a few hours a week it can make a huge difference to needy cats.

‘‘We are sure whoever takes on the role will find it incredibly rewarding. It’s also a great way to make new friends – both human and feline!”
