The fifth Stonehaven Baby Fair takes place on Saturday in Stonehaven Town Hall from 10am-2pm, with plenty on offer.

The event is bigger and better this year offering a fantastic opportunity to take part in some taster session of baby signing, drama and music for your little ones, and let’s not forget the Mearns Leader Bonny Baby Competition.

The competition proved hugely popular at last year’s Baby Fair, so to ensure your little one doesn’t miss out book your session now. Entrants should be aged up to three years old and bookings can be made by calling photographer Ian Shewan on 01569 767769 or emailing ian@ianshewan.com

Ian will be giving out prizes for not only the outright winner, but two runners up will also receive prizes in the competition.

First prize is a framed A4 photograph worth £75, second prize is an 8x10 print and third prize is a 5x7 print.

Another first for this year’s event is the attendance of local breastfeeding support groups, so if you have any questions or query’s about breastfeeding you can have a chat with a trained counsellor from the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers or from a peer supporter.

The popular event provides a one-stop shop for local mums, dads, mums-to-be, grandparents and guardians to find out what is happening in their area. Organised by mums for mums it is a unique event that platforms what’s available for mums and young families in the area.

There will be baby massage, reflexology; information on signing and singing classes. There will be local business who provide unique products and services including handmade clothing, quilting and a babywearing and cloth nappy service. Many of the exhibitors are online retailers, and Stonehaven Baby Fair providing them a shop window for their goods.

Following the popularity of last year’s goody bags, the bags will again be available at this year’s event with lots of fantastic samples and offers. This year we will be asking for a suggestion donation of 50p, or as much as you can spare, for the bags in aid of The Archie Foundation. The Archie Foundation will also be running the Baby Fair raffle.
