Stonehaven Heated Open Air Pool is to offer an afternoon of fun for all ages on Sunday, in a fitting end to what has proved to be a very successful season.
The fun will kick off at 2pm with kids’ fun, competitions and games and an Aqua disco to round off the season, with the pool closing at 6pm.
“We really want to make the season finish with a bang,” said Mike Robins, Chair of the Friends of the Pool. “We want to thank all the people who have supported us over our shorter-than-usual summer season.
“In the run-up to opening, we had a target of 30,000 people through the turnstiles. Obviously, with our planned 14-week season cut back to just over 10 weeks due to our late opening, a new target of 20,000 was set – and it looks like we will exceed that, as already more than 19,700 customers have enjoyed the Pool’s warm, clean seawater.”
It is hoped that locals and visitors will help the Friends exceed their target to make up for the early-season water quality issues which delayed the opening by almost four weeks.
