ACTRESS, TV personality and cookery goddess Lisa Faulkner is urging people in this area to grab their teapots and use their culinary skills to help fight meningitis this autumn.
Lisa is backing Meningitis UK’s annual Time 4 Tea campaign by putting forward her delicious Fantasy Cake recipe to entice people to get creative.
Time 4 Tea asks people to gather their family and friends, and put on a brew and bake a cake or two throughout September.
There are a variety of events people can host, from tea dances and coffee mornings, to teddy bears’ picnics and cake-baking competitions.
Lisa launched a new recipe book this year called ‘Recipes From My Mother For My Daughter’ after winning Celebrity Masterchef in 2010.
Lisa, who is thrilled to be supporting Time 4 Tea, said: “I’m delighted to be able to help with Meningitis UK’s brilliant Time 4 Tea campaign.
“The outstanding work they do is vital to fight meningitis, especially as they receive no Government funding.
Money raised will go towards Meningitis UK’s Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign to help fund research to protect future generations against the deadly disease.
A party pack featuring Lisa’s recipe and Twinings tea, along with balloons, colourful bunting, invitations and a collection box will be sent to anyone who registers for the event.
