Stonehaven Town Partnership has decided to seek further expertise, and is looking for more Directors.
At its monthly Board meeting last week, Stonehaven Town Partnership took key decisions to handle the increasing activity it undertakes to improve the prosperity of the town. The company has room for four more Directors, and the Board wants to focus in on both Strategy and Communications.
The group hope that some residents of Stonehaven will put themselves forward for the new positions of Director of Strategy and Director of Communications.
Peter Bellarby, the Chairman of the Partnership, when announcing the decision said: “The Partnership has done a lot in the last few years, including setting up the Stonehaven Town Hall Trust, but there is an increasing demand to deal with other issues in the Town”.
The Partnership has started work on Asset Transfer of both the Queen Elizabeth Caravan Park and the Tolbooth Building. There are other projects in mind, including a Business Improvement District for the town and improvements at the Harbour.
Mr Bellarby said: “We need to move from an immediate focus to a longer term sustainable way of improving the Town. There are funds out there, such as the European AXIS 4 fund, but we need to be ready to capitalise on these opportunities.”
Stonehaven Town Partnership is run by its membership, which is open to any organisation in the town. Currently some 50 clubs and societies are members.
It currently receives funding under a Service Level Agreement with Aberdeenshire Council. However, the medium term vision is to generate trading income which would then be used to improve Stonehaven.
