A busy commuter road at Stonehaven is to be closed for repair work next week.
Aberdeenshire Council will be undertaking essential repair work to the B979 ‘Netherley Road’ and it will be closed from Monday, June 20 until Friday, June 24. The road will be closed from the U93K Borrowfield junction to the Mains of Netherley.
Vehicular access to affected properties will be maintain wherever possible, a spokesperson for Aberdeenshire Council said.
A signed diversion route will be in place via the B979 to the A90T at Stonehaven - A90T to the B9077 Leggart Terrace - B9077 South Deeside Road to the B979 Netherley Road - B979 to Mains of Nertheley and vice versa.
Head of Roads and Landscape for Aberdeenshire Council, Philip McKay said: “We apologise for the inconvenience this road closure will cause as we realise that this is a busy commuter route, however the works are necessary and we hope to complete them on time if not ahead of schedule.”
