An 82 year old man from Inverbervie who died following a collision in on the A92 King Street Inverbervie near Kirkburn has been named as James Lyall.

The collision happened at around 3.15pm when the man was struck by a black Audi A3.

Police and ambulance units attended and the man was conveyed by Ambulance under Police escort to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he later died.

Inspector Ian Kirkwood, of the Road Policing Department, said: “Following the collision, a team of officers were deployed in Inverbervie and a number of witnesses were spoken to.

“I would ask for anyone who witnessed the collision and left without providing their details to contact us on 101 and a police officer will contact them to see if they have any information which could be of assistance to us.

“As a result of the collision the A92 through Inverbervie was closed for around five hours whilst collision investigation work was carried out. I realise that this caused traffic delays and am grateful to motorists for their patience.”
