The video clip shows thick smoke billowing from the boat and flames blazing on the deck on Sunday afternoon.

The five men, who had abandoned their vessel and taken to a liferaft, were rescued by another ship, the Pleiades, which responded to the emergency broadcast.

Emergency services, including the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, a rescue helicopter and the Fraserburgh RNLI all-weather lifeboat assisted in the rescue.

All five crew were safely taken on board the Pleiades with no injuries.

Aberdeen Coastguard confirmed that the fishing vessel Karinya later sank.
