Those taking part in the annual New Year’s Day charity “Nip and Dip” will be shivering at the thought of jumping into the North Sea on a cold January’s day.
However there is no backing out now as Tuesday draws closer and organisations are well underway for over 75 dippers who have already signed up.
The annual charity dip in the North Sea will take place on New Years Day to raise money for Children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
The event it in it’s fifth year and takes place from 12 noon on January 1 2013.
Registration will be open from 10.30 in the Granary and all participants will be given a free CLIC Sargent Tshirt and a ‘nip’ of whisky (adults!) which is donated by Dunnottar Wines to warm them up after their dip.
Fancy dress is optional and participants are asked to try and raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship, but best efforts are always appreciated.
Soup on the day will be provided by Michelle Ward and the Royal Hotel and the Lions Club will be helping out. Jane’s design are allowing dippers to use their premises to dry off and Woodview embroidery will be personalising the t-shirts.
Katie Grier, Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent said: “Whether you’ll be braving the dip yourself, or coming to support a ‘dip and nipper’ we would love to see you there as the dip promises to be bigger and better than last year!”
It’s not too late to sign up - for more information about the event or to request a registration pack contact Katie Grier on 01224 288 960 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
