A LOCAL teenaged fundraiser has handed over the profits from her latest event to two deserving causes. Chloe Jackson (17), who has been fundraising since the age of 5, organised a Burns Night Ceilidh in Stonehaven Town Hall to raise funds for Help for Heroes and local group Speak of the Mearns.
Altogether £1006.78 was raised on the night, and after expenses Chloe was able to hand £313.67 to Help for Heroes and £293.11 to Speak of the Mearns.
Chloe said that she wouldn’t have been able to organise such a successful event without help. She said: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped me. The Rosebowl provided thistles, Molly Gunnings provided stovies, Ken Venters helped me a lot with the town hall and Mearns FM.
“The Mearns Arthouse sold tickets and so did Linda Lawson. The British Legion helped out by providing a speaker on the night. Take A Hike in Montrose sold tickets too.
“Obviously I couldn’t have done it without everyone who came and made the night such a success. But I have to add a special thank you to my parents, none of this would have happened without their support.”
