THE next few weeks are shaping up to be really busy at Stonehaven Town Hall, so why not get involved and support the Town Hall Trust at the same time?
First on the agenda is the Town Hall Race Night on Saturday March 17. The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost tickets £8.
A great race night is promised, the horses are on pulleys and you actually get to race them - no videos, just live action. What could be better for St Patricks Night - horse racing and a pint and you even get fed at half time.
Sunday March 25 is the Stoney Jazz Cafe which is growing in popularity after the closure of the Lemon Tree lunch time sessions. It’s great to see new faces coming down and hearing new people taking part so why not check it out?. Or you can just chill out listen to the music, read the papers, have a bowl of soup or a drink, or pick up a book from our book swap corner - 50p donation to the Town Hall and take a book. It’s £5 standard entry or £3 on the door.
Due to a high number of requests by many of the older people in the town, on Saturday March 31 there will be an afternoon concert with an afternoon of Scottish Music.
Simply Scottish is a concert with Carol Anderson and Martin Macdonald, followed by Simply2Accordions, tickets £7 standard and £5 concession doors open 1.45pm concert begins at 2pm-4.45pm
Later on Saturday March 31 is the Fat Hippy Record Showcase with Brothers Reid, The Lorellei and The Ruckus. A great line up and it promises to be a fantastic evening of live music. Tickets cost £5, and doors open 7.45pm starts at 8pm.
On Easter Sunday (April 8) we have another new venture - Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre are bringing Peter and the Wolf to the Town Hall. Tickets are £5 each or you can purchase a Family ticket for £18 up to 4 people one of which must be an adult. Show starts at 2pm and lasts about an hour.
