Brand new to the Mearns Leader and Kincardineshire Observer is a column featuring everything that is happening in Inverbervie.

Our new correspondent, Caroll Evans (pictured right), is passionate about community action, family and providing the best environment and opportunities for her children.

She is driven by the powerful philosophy of supporting and encouraging a community to be all it can be.

In her role in managing the Bervie Facebook community page, ‘What’s on Inverbervie,’ she has been able to reach out and offer a positive service to the local and surrounding communities.

Her no nonsense approach and ‘can do’ attitude has seen her involved in a number of community-based committees and groups.

She currently a member of the Royal Burgh of Inverbervie Community Council (RBICC), chairperson of Kincardine and Mearns Community Safety Group, and is a member of the New Kincardinshire Development Partnership (KDP).

Caroll has succeeded in the start-up of a local cleaning business, Bervie Cleaners, which offers economic opportunities for local people and a valued service to the community.

In her spare time, the busy mum of three chairs the Bervie Youth Project and volunteers with the Mearns and Coastal Healthy Living Network.

In 2013, Caroll was nominated to attend the Queen’s Garden Party at Holyrood and to be a Commonwealth Baton bearer, both nominations from community contribution.
