Dunnottar Castle’s wishing well has raised £300 for local charity, instant Neighbour.
Instant Neighbour, is a Grampian based charity which provides a range of services for vulnerable people, those experiencing poverty and homelessness across the City of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Once again the North-East charity is rolling out its festive appeal, the Giving Tree in a bid to ensure every child across the North-East gets a present from Santa this Christmas.
Chief Executive, Sophy Green said “Christmas is an especially difficult time of year for many of the families we work with across Aberdeen and the Shire. The Giving Tree Appeal aims to ease some pressures faced and ensure children young and old can enjoy some of the special qualities at this time of year”
At the centre piece of the appeal is the Giving Tree, located at the information desk on the Upper Mall of the Bon Accord Centre, whereby customers are asked to pick a gift tag from the tree and purchase and giftwrap a present for the child named on the label.
The present can then be handed in to Boots on the Upper Level as well as a number of outlets dotted around the city and Aberdeenshire.
Dunecht Estates, who own Dunnottar Castle, donated £300 on behalf of our visitors who come from all over the world to visit the Castle each year.
