Woman who died at Kinneff cliffs named

A woman who died after an incident at the cliffs of Kinneff on Friday, May 27 has been named as 44-year-old Lesley Pumford.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that enquiries are currently “ongoing” into the death of Ms Pumford, who is from the Kinneff area.

Last week’s incident near Inverbervie occured at 1:20am on Friday morning and the death has been labelled by police as “unexplained”.

A male in his 40s was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in connection with the same incident and was said to be suffering from minor injuries.

He was found by emergency services when they were called out to the Whistleberry Castle area.
